ATCHISON COUNTY— Law enforcement are investigating a truck theft and fire.

Shortly after 5a.m. Thursday police recovered a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado  in Jackson Park in the 1500 block South 6th Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

The truck had been reported stolen in Weston, Missouri. The truck was on fire and extinguished by the Fire Department. The case is being investigated by Atchison Police and Weston Police.  Police released no additional details.
