Smoothie King Center home of NBA's New Orleans Pelicans. New Orleans - December 29^ 2021

New Orleans Pelicans top-scorer Brandon Ingram will be out indefinitely with a significant, low-left ankle sprain. ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that Ingram suffered the injury during the Pelicans’ 119–109 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. Ingram had just returned to the lineup on Thursday after missing six games with plantaris tendinitis.

During Saturday’s game, Ingram collided mid-air with the Thunder’s Luguentz Dort while attempting a jump shot during the third quarter, landing on Dort’s foot and rolling his ankle in the process.  Ingram fell to the court in pain and was helped to the locker room by teammates, and was also hit later with an offensive foul on the play.

At the time he left Saturday’s game, Ingram had scored five points with three assists. For the season, he is averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists, while shooting 37% on 3-pointers.
