Rap Icon Ice Cube attends the 2016 One Music Fest in Atlanta Georgia Lakewood Amphitheater 9/10/16

Ice Cube has dropped the music video for “It’s My Ego” directed by Gabriel “VIDEOGOD” Hart.

In the visual, the 55-year-old presides over a comical church service that is interrupted by a masked gunman, with Ice getting the last laugh. He shares of the video: “I wanted to have fun, and I wanted to bring fun back to Hip-Hop. It’s a fun video, and the song…a lot of people think ego is a bad thing but you know you should celebrate your ego. It makes you unique. We don’t all want to be the same. That would be boring. Be yourself, and celebrate who you are. Be proud of yourself, [and] proud of your ego.”

The rapper also shared details of his upcoming album Man Down, set to drop on November 22nd, and explained his motivations behind the project: “Right after we finished the Mount Westmore record, I was still ready to go,” shared the BIG3 founder, referring to the 2022 collaborative effort from the supergroup formed with Cube, Snoop Dogg, E-40, and Too $hort. It’s Ice Cube music. It’s music I think we all can relate to. If you listen to the whole album, you’ll know why I called it Man Down. And it’s a record that I’m proud of .. No doubt. It’s been publicized that me and B-Real been tight, fell out, and got tight again. And that’s how it’s supposed to be. Family, sometimes you fall out, but when it’s real, you come back together.”
